Frequently asked questions.
How should I frame my painting or print?
Both the gouache paintings and the giclée prints must be protected from UV sunlight by framing them behind UV filtering plexi or glass. Use 100% acid free mounting, matting and backing, and please don’t ever hang the artwork in direct sunlight even with these protections! Although the ink is archival, ink and paint are susceptible to fading from sunlight if exposed.
How do I order a commission?
The first step is to schedule a discovery call with me. We will talk about the general process, and together we will find out if commissioning is a good fit for what you want. There is no pressure, and this call is free! If you decide to move forward, we will have another longer call, up to one hour, where we will talk about your passions, your history, and your story. We will also talk about what images (photos) I may need from you, size and a timeline. Commissions often take 5-7 weeks to complete, depending on complexity, and the availability of my photographer to shoot the piece before I send it to you.
There is a painting I like on your website but I don’t see it available in your Shopify Shop.
If it’s a work on paper, that means the piece has been sold. If you would like to commission a similar painting, I have done that many times. Schedule a discovery call and we can talk about it more! If it’s an oil painting, I cannot remake it because I’m sensitive to the chemicals in oil painting mediums, unfortunately, so I’m not working in oils at the moment. Hopefully this will change in the future!
How do you ship the paintings and prints?
The gouache paintings are wrapped in glassine (a type of protective paper) and shipped flat between layers of foam core. Most prints are shipped in heavy duty mailing tubes, rolled in tissue papers to protect them. Small prints (smaller than 11” x 16”) can be shipped flat in a flat box.
Can I order a different size print than what you have available in the Shopify Shop?
Depending on the digital image size, I may be able to accommodate custom orders. Smaller images are usually not a problem but images larger than what I have listed may not work because the image quality may deteriorate if the scale is too large. I am very particular about image quality and I will never sell a print that isn’t up to my standards. Please contact me by email with your request!
