Commissions are by far the most challenging and rewarding type of painting I do, and I feel honored to have the opportunity to translate a person’s individuality into a work of art. Through a discovery conversation, we will envision your passions and establish the important themes. Then, using your photos and other source material, I will translate your story into your bespoke one-of-a-kind painting! INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED: Meet the Artist
Renowned artist Lise Lemeland, whose paintings merge art and aviation, holds a prominent place in the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's collection and has garnered acclaim from top corporate collectors like Universal NBC and General Electric. Winner of the esteemed Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant, Lemeland's resilience shines through tragedy. Following the loss of her husband in a plane crash, she overcame her fear of flying to become a decorated aerobatics competitor. However, she faced another challenge when she became chronically ill with Lyme disease and complications, which she battled for 14 years. This illness forced her to give up her nursing career and flying, but her perseverance remains strong as she is now on the journey to recovery.
With degrees from Stanford, the San Francisco Art Institute, and Hunter College, Lemeland is an esteemed figure in the art world, having taught at Alfred University and lectured at prestigious universities nationwide. With numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally, her work has been reviewed in major publications, and she's authored articles for leading aviation magazines. Specializing in personalized art, Lemeland offers a unique collaborative experience, crafting bespoke pieces that celebrate individuality.
